Ordnance Crucible banner

For the first time, Ordnance Soldiers from across the Army will have the opportunity to compete and test their core competencies in a DA level event!

The U.S. Army OD Crucible is designed to force Soldiers to showcase teamwork and critical thinking skills in order to solve problems and apply solutions. The U.S. Army Crucible will allow Divisions to validate institutional training, and display their respective units’ skills. Participants in each of the competitions will be subjected to a Decisive Action Training Environment that will test their knowledge and mastery of tasks within their respective occupational skill sets. In addition, the competition will be physically and mentally demanding.

The U.S. Army Ordnance Crucible is comprised of the Ammunition Transfer Holding Point (ATHP) Team of the Year (ToY), Combat Repair Team (CRT) ToY, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) ToY. The events will be held from 7 August to 15 September 2017. The ATHP and CRT events will be hosted at Fort Pickett, and will feature 19 teams, one from each Division in the Army. The EOD ToY, comprised of six two man teams, will be held at Fort A.P. Hill.
